This newsletter format is new to me, so please forgive the learning curve, and any feedback is welcome!

Career coaching isn’t about someone else telling you what to do. It’s about creating the space to think deeply, ask the right questions, and uncover what’s truly important to you.

A good career coach won’t hand you answers but they will help you find them. Through guided reflection, frameworks, and honest conversation, we look at:

• What matters most to you (values, purpose, fulfilment)

• What energises or drains you (strengths and blind spots)

• What you want from work and life (goals, boundaries, balance)

It’s not therapy, mentoring, or CV writing — though sometimes it touches elements of each. It’s about helping you take meaningful, aligned action toward the next chapter of your career.

Think of coaching as a pause button. It’s chance to zoom out, get clarity, and move forward with purpose.

When you’re at a crossroads in your career, one of the simplest ways to get clarity is to notice where your energy naturally goes.

The Energy Audit tool: Look back over the past few weeks and make two lists:

1. Energising Moments: times you felt purposeful, in flow, or simply good at what you were doing.

2. Draining Moments: tasks, conversations, or projects that left you flat or tense.

Then ask yourself:

• What patterns am I noticing?

• Which of my strengths show up most often in the energising list?

• What do the draining moments tell me about what’s missing, or what might need to change?

Tip: Keep an energy log for a couple of weeks. Real patterns start to appear after the third round.

💭 This Month’s Reflection Prompt

Reflection questions are powerful because they help you pause and move from autopilot to awareness. They create space to notice patterns, connect dots, and make more intentional choices about what you want next rather than simply reacting to what’s happening around you. So here are a couple to consider this month:

• When in your career have you felt most alive and engaged in what you were doing?

• What was happening around you? Who were you working with? What strengths were you using?

Spend 10 minutes journalling your answer. You’ll be surprised how often patterns appear when you least expect them.
